Flipping VS Pitching. What is the the difference between flipping and pitching and how can I do it?
So what the heck is the difference between flipping and pitching?
I show you examples in the video above, but 9 times out of 10 you are probably going to be pitching. I know we all call it flipping, but it’s not.
I am guilty of mixing up flipping and pitching.
In short, flipping is holding the line in your non-dominant hand and making short drops while picking up and letting out slack with the hand.
Pitching is where you are actually making short controlled casts with the reel. These are usually underhand casts and are very precise and up close.
If you watch the video above you can get a video and it will make more sense.
Gear I Used To Flip and Pitch
This is not the only gear I use, but it will get you started. A lot of times I also fish with a medium heavy rod that is 7′ – 7’3″.

As far as baits that I use, I really like the Tokyo rig and fish it with a small creature-style bait or a worm most of the time.
